This toy is only available when I have fresh, green Banksia pods which are a special treat for many parrots. The Bitty Banksia Bonanza is a natural chew with 2 lovely Banksia Pods, that are green and fresh. They are seasonally available in limited numbers. This toy suits most breeds of birds or mixed cages as it is a good, in-between size. It measures between 16cm and 20cm long.

Posted all around the country, though express postage is recommended if you’re outside of South-East Queensland, for the freshest possible product.

The Bitty Banksia Bonanza is handmade by me (Kirsty). All natural components have been cleaned safely in F10 Veterinary Disinfectant and the wire base of the toy is grade 316 stainless steel. Though available to order any time, natural bird toys are never pre-made or ready to send. After your order is paid for, I will make the natural toy(s) with freshly cleaned seed pods. Normally this only takes a day or two, but can sometimes be longer during busy periods. Feel free to contact me to check availability or wait times.

This toy does not come with a hanging link. You may have spares already or you can choose one from the drop down menu.

  • Nickel Plated Pear Clips are the standard hanging link that comes with most toys and are safe for most birds.
  • Stainless Steel Pear Clips are the same size and design, but are made from stainless steel, so will last longer and won’t rust from outdoor use or regular washing.
  • Stainless Steel Quick Links are larger than pear clips and feature a sturdier clasp. Suitable for large parrots and can be tightened with pliers, for birds that like to unscrew links.

The focus of this toy is the fresh, green Banksia pods which many medium and large birds really love to eat. There are Gumnuts and sometimes other seed pods on these toys, between the Banksia pods. Normally coastal Banksia pods are used, but on occasion the slightly larger/tougher green Spinulosa pods may be used (pictured last). It is normal for the Banksia pods to have small ‘blisters’ on the surface and natural imperfections. Blisters are the plants’ natural reaction to an insect bite. The more affected pods are given to my own flock, who do not mind, but some pods with limited blisters may be used on these toys.

My flock all love this toy, especially our two galahs. Makes them work at it to get the seeds out and keeps them busy. Highly recommend
