Parrot’s Treasure Chest4.00 out of 5$23.20
This is a great, tricky foraging toy – hide treats, foot toys, pellets, fruit or vege chunks within this toy for your bird to get out.
Your clever parrot will need to turn the 2 keys the correct amount and pull them out of the ‘lock’ to allow the lid of the toy to separate from the body of the toy. The key stays attached to the toy so it doesn’t get lost and the lid and body of the toy are connected by a chain so it can open without parts going everywhere. Check out the videos of this toy in use!
The Parrot’s Treasure can be used by most breeds of parrots, however shouldn’t be given to Conures, Quakers, Caiques, Lorikeets and Indian Ringnecks until they are experienced foragers as it can be a tricky toy.
Snack Rack5.00 out of 5$25.60
This is an interesting foraging toy that really can be done by nearly every type of parrot. Hide treats, toys, pellets, fruit or vege chunks within the Snack Rack for your bird to get out.
Your bird will need to turn the outer pieces which rotate around the main body of the toy. Each of the 2 outer pieces has an indent which allows the piece to pass over the middle shelf which has a protruding piece. Start the toy at an easier level by having the treat at the top so your bird just needs to turn the pieces until one falls down to reveal the treat.
For Alexandrines and larger parrots, you can later increase the difficulty by putting the treat in the bottom level and your bird will need to turn and LIFT the top level to get it over the shelf above it, before retrieving their reward. This can be seen in the videos below.
Giant Foraging Wheel (Second Generation)0 out of 5
This is a sturdy foraging toy designed for large and extra large birds. Your parrot will need to turn the wheel to access five separate food compartments which you can fill with foot toys, beads, nuts, 'foraging parcels' and other treats. You can fit foraging foot toys, such as the Flower Pot, Smarty Ring and up to medium Feather Weights within the compartments of this wheel. Using 4cm Vine Balls and Yucca Pieces is also a great foraging idea.
Measures roughly 20cm in diameter and 5cm thick/deep. It screws onto cage at 2 points and fits most cage and aviary bars.
For medium parrots, I suggest the smaller, 'Extra-Large' version of this wheel. They are all made from tough polycarbonate and are dishwasher safe.
Turn ‘n Learn Logs0 out of 5$30.70
The Turn n Learn Logs is a great foraging toy that can be a challenge even for the smartest of parrots. It’s a very time consuming toy and requires some patience and skill.
Your bird will need to unscrew each of the opaque, blue logs to access the compartment in the bottom of each log, where treats, toys and beads can be hidden. Mini Feather Weight Foot Toys and 2cm Vine Balls fit well within the compartments as foraging items. Birds will generally use their beaks to chew the logs in the opposite direction to each other in order to open it, but some larger parrots may use their feet to hold the lower log too.
Each log is rougly 5.5cm in diameter and hangs just over 30cm long when screwed shut and 55cm long when unscrewed. It attaches to the cage with a quick link.
CFS Small Feeder Starter Kit (10 Refills)0 out of 5$25.60
The Creative Foraging Systems Box Feeder toy is great for feeding your birds’ dry food and treats. Fill with bird safe foraging substrate to make the food harder to get to.
Your bird will need to chew open the cardboard box to access the rewards inside! This starter pack comes with 10 refill boxes which come with a ‘honeycomb divider’ to separate the box into 8 compartments, prolonging the foraging enjoyment! Refill packs of 15 boxes can be purchased separately in my store.
This toy is the smaller of the 2 sizes (shown together in last images) and is made from tough polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. It comes in clear, as pictured and attaches to the side of the cage using a polycarbonate screw/washer that fits most cage and aviary bars. Be careful not to cross thread these when tightening them as the screw pieces will snap!
Small Hanging Birdy Plunk – Pre-order Only0 out of 5$27.00
An acrylic foraging toy for dry food treats and foot toys that can be used by inexperienced and practiced foragers. To use this toy your small or medium parrot needs to pull on each of the 2 shelves to release their larger treat or foot toy to the opening at the bottom. The Small Birdy Plunk hangs from a length of nickel plated chain with a pear clip at the top.
A Mini Feather Weight foraging foot toy is pictured in use and can be purchased separately for small seeds to go inside. Or you can use a nut or smaller treat wrapped in paper as the treat or a 2cm Vine Ball (foraging foot toy) with food inside.

Extra Large Foraging Wheel (Second Generation)0 out of 5$50.50
This is a sturdy foraging toy designed for medium to large birds. Your parrot will need to turn the wheel to access five separate food compartments which you can fill with foot toys, beads, nuts, ‘foraging parcels’ and other treats. 2cm Vine Balls, Mini and Small Feather Weight foot toys also fit inside the compartments of this toy.
Measures 16cm in diameter and 4cm thick/deep. It screws onto cage at 2 points and fits most cage and aviary bars.
For larger parrots, I suggest the ‘Giant’ version of this wheel. They are all made from tough polycarbonate and are dishwasher safe.
Four Way Forager0 out of 5$39.00
This is a very popular foraging toy that is great for the smaller breeds of birds. It is easy to teach your bird to use and can also be made more difficult. Fill it with your bird’s favourite treats, and their normal diet. You can use Mini Feather Weight Foot toys, vine balls and other items in this toy as well as treats.
Your bird will need to lift the light, plastic lid and reach their head into the cup to access their reward. The cups and lids move around freely on a long length of nickel plated chain.
Tea Party Forager0 out of 5$16.50
This is a super cute little toy that combines shredding fun and foraging! Sprinkle some seed or pellets in the natural, woven basket as well as treats/foot toys/beads in the 2 smiley mugs, hanging below the basket. The mugs hold a 2cm Vine Ball or Mini Feather Weight perfectly as a foraging foot toy for your bird to find (see the videos)!
The 4cm birdy bagel tube between the basket and the rubber duck is stuffed with colourful, crinkle paper and is another great place to hide a foraging parcel for your bird. There is a bell, c links and mini pacifiers at the bottom for your bird to play with as well!
Measures 23cm long and 13cm in diameter and the cups come in various colours as shown.
Foraging Wheel (First Generation)4.00 out of 5
There is a reason this original foraging wheel from Caitec is still around, it is great for feeding your birds’ dry food and treats and can be used by many breeds, including small parrots.
Fill with a mix of normal food or treats and a safe foraging substrate, to make the treats harder to get to. Your bird will need to turn the face of the wheel using the handle or the openings. This changes the position of the 2 openings and allows access to the 5 different compartments within the wheel. You can add chewable items to the mix for your bird to get their beak into. Mini and small Feather Weight Foot Toys fit well inside the compartments, as well as 2cm Vine Balls and small Yucca Pieces.
This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. It attaches to the side of the cage using the typical Creative Foraging Systems washer/screw provided which fits most cage and aviary bars.
The wheel is about 15cm in diameter and 3cm deep and best suits small and medium parrots and is not very suitable for Alexandrines due to their beak size. Check out the Generation II wheels for larger birds.
