Generally options 1-5 are a thin Paperbark, 6-10 are a thin brown/rough bark (eg Brush Box, Bottle Brush, Bloodwood Eucalypt), 11-15 are medium to thick Paperbark and 16-20 are medium to thick rough bark. Perches #21 and up will be a variety of different types.

Each perch is listed with a picture of the actual item. As you select a different number from the drop down menu, the image will change. The detailed description for the selected perch shows below the number option. For those within South-East Queensland, postage is a cheap flat rate so ignore the parcel size details. For sending to other areas, the postage price is determined by the cubic weight (size) of the box required and you can estimate postage via the shopping cart page depending what’s in your cart.

Read the description below the ‘add to cart’ button for more details. All perches include stainless steel bolt-on hardware.

Don’t miss the reviews

A bolt on perch is a great addition to your birds’ cage. They are easy to attach to the inside or outside of the cage and can also be used in aviaries. Each natural branch has been hand selected by me from safe, native trees and cleaned in bird-safe veterinary disinfectant (F10 SC). All perches that I provide have bark on them, so they’re great for your parrot to chew as well as being good for their feet and beak. There is a mix of Paperbark, Bottle Brush, Brush Box, Casuarina, Wattle, Eucalypt and other native branches.

The branch of most of these perches measure roughly 30cm long, though some may be far longer or even a little shorter. Each perch is pictured with a 30cm (purple) ruler for size reference. If you’d like specific measurements for a perch, please contact me. Some perches do have sizes listed in their individual descriptions.

Sizing of ‘thin’, ‘medium’ and ‘thick’ refers to the perch diameter, not the thickness of the bark on the branch. Thin is generally under 2.5cm in diameter and suits small parrots, thick is over 2.5cm in diameter and suitable for larger birds. Many unique perches have a variety of thicknesses, due to different fork sizes. It is always good to provide a variety of diameters suitable for your bird and I do my best to list unique branches in the right size section.

Bolt on perches come with a wingnut and 2 washers that are all stainless steel for maximum safety for your bird. The standard washers are 32mm in diameter, so suit most cage bars. Larger washers (50mm in diameter) are available for cages with bar spacing of 2cm or more, to attach the perches with ease. Please select from the options to change the washer. Some perch descriptions will include a suggestion to upgrade washer size based on the size of the perch.

These are normally listed in full batches, so sign up for an ‘in stock notification’ on perch option 1 or 6 to find out when a new batch is available.

This piece is stunning. Photos don’t do it justice. The bark is so soft which will provide lots of fun for my bird. It is unique and simply amazing. It has been put together with quality workmanship to ensure it stays put in the cage. I can’t keep Huey off it. Hand selected by Kirsty and what a top choice she made!!!
