Snuggle Safe Heat Pad

$68.30 (inc GST)

Feeling the cold? The Snuggle Safe Heat Pad is a great, SAFE way to keep your pets warm. With no electric cords or easy to chew surfaces, this is the safest way to provide extra comfort to your pets. The Snuggle Safe Heat Pad can be used for cats, dogs, parrots, rabbits and pocket pets.

Microwave for 3-8 minutes (see instructions for different microwaves – images attached) and it stays warm for up to 10 hours, so it’s great for overnight. The Snuggle Safe heat pad radiates safe warmth (but not heat) and should be placed in a way that your pet can move away from it if they wish, or snuggle closer for the warmth.

The optional seagrass mat holding pouch is a handy way to attach the pad against the outside of a birds cage, or you can get creative with other ways of attaching it. More details and customer reviews are available below.

Description

Each parcel weighs 1.2 to 1.4kg with the heat pad (and optional holding pouch) without any other products. This puts it in the 1-3kg category for postage.

The product can hold its’ warmth for between 6 and 10 hours, depending on factors like surrounding temperature and whether it is covered in material or open to the air. The heat pad comes with a fleece cover which can be used with cats, dogs and most pocket pets. It is recommended to NOT have fleece materials in reach of parrots and other pets that like to chew fabric. I choose to not have fabrics near my birds and the heat pad works just fine without the cover. See the additional photos, for how I used to place the heat pad on the outside of my birds’ cage, using a coop cup (bowl). I now use the seagrass holding pouch, which also allows me to leave the heat pad in its’ fleece cover, which may help it stay warm for longer.

*Please note that one photo shows a customers’ Green Cheek Conure snuggling up to the heat pad. I don’t recommend to place these inside a birds’ cage, unless well secured because they are heavy and could cause injury if they fall. Benji does enjoy his heat pad though!

The Snuggle Safe is a top quality product and holds its’ warmth for many hours. They may not always stay warm overnight, through to the morning, but will provide warmth for many more hours than a hot water bottle or heat wheat pack (which are normally cold in and hour or two). They are far safer than products with electrical cords that could be a hazard if chewed or if they get wet.

Bb our Galah was a bit nervous of this. Warm vs cold won though.
I worry about him at night as his cage is outside and we can’t bring him in.
Safe way to warm up our little fluffy pink chicken on cold winters nights.
They stay warm for hours, heat it up just before I wrap his cage and take it out when I get him up in the morning.

This pad keeps warm for hours. My only criticism of the product is that it is quite hard and bulky even when placed in the cover.

I cannot rate this more. Despite my birds being terrified of it the first few days it has helped them keep warm in the Canberra cold of -1. They are snug of a night and I’m not having to worry about something lighting a fire. Also my partner found it useful when he was sick with a cold 🙂

I was worried that the product wouldn’t match the description, and that it wouldn’t last as long as it promises on the label. I am so happy to be proven wrong! This thing really does last for hours, and its perfect for the Canberra nights without having to worry about leaving an electric heater unattended overnight. Its also great for people use, and can be used to help your sore muscles as well when your birdie isn’t using it.
