A 1m length of high quality stainless steel wire that is 0.8mm thick. This is the thinnest wire that I use and is easy to bend and shape with pliers or even fingers. For larger birds, I also have 1.6mm and 2mm wire.
Photo coming soon. A 1m length of high quality stainless steel wire that is 1.6mm thick and what I use in many of my natural toys. This wire is fairly easy to bend and shape with pliers and is a suitable size for Budgies through to Indian Ringnecks. For larger birds, I'd recommend using the 2mm thick wire for more stability. This 1.6mm wire is still safe to use for bigger birds if desired.
A selection of 5 pieces of Yucca. Yucca is a type of plant and these pieces of dried plant stalk are bird safe, soft and chewable. Parrots, small and large love munching on the soft, fibrous natural material. It's great to give as a foot toy or thread onto other toys. You can poke a hole with skewer, wire or scissors and hang it in your birds' cage. By making small holes in the Yucca and pushing dry food treats into it, you can make this a foraging foot toy also. You will receive a pack of 5 pieces, as pictured - 2 discs, 2 quarter pieces and a half piece. The half is from a larger disc so is a decent size and all slices are roughly 2cm thick. These can all be cut to smaller pieces easily with a stanley blade so can make more than 5 pieces. As a natural item, the pieces do vary and can have 'imperfections' and areas of different colours. These yucca slices have come from the 'Bird Kabob' 20 pack (shown below), which I have opened and divided into even packs of 5 pieces each for those wanting to try a smaller amount. The last photo is an example of how food can be stuck in the yucca.Yucca, also known as 'yukka'.
Finger traps are crinkly little toy parts that can be used as foot toys, stuffed with shredded paper or food and threaded over perches. So much fun to be had! They're safe to chew and a favourite of many small parrots. These finger traps are vibrantly coloured and all the same (no variation). I also sell standard colours of finger traps.
A pack of 500 grams of fresh gum nuts. The Gumnuts are picked fresh and may be green to brown or grey in colour. They are drilled (if selected) and briefly soaked in a solution of F10 veterinary disinfectant before being dried in the sun. I check the Gumnuts for issues or parasites before sending, though some may have small amounts of natural scarring on the outside. They are then packed into a box with shredded paper, or into paper bags within the box for posting. These seed pods are seasonally available in and depend on local sources. They may also be from various trees so therefore different in size and colour to each other. They are collected and prepared fresh to order so are never 'in stock', ready to be sent. I will contact you if there are any issues with supply at the time.
These colourful little tea cups are too cute to pass by! With different faces on each cup and a handle that can be held my many breeds of birds, they make a great foot toy. Train your bird to hold it with their foot while they 'drink' out of the cup for a reward. You can use them as a toy part or just hang the cups in your birds cage. Mini Feather Weight Foot Toys fit well within the cup, as do 2cm Vine Balls and many pellets and smaller nuts. There is a video in the tab below showing the cup in use. There is a gap in the handle, big enough for stainless steel 'o' rings and small rope to pass through to hang the cup or use it as a toy part. The faces/designs vary and a random selection will be chosen for your order, though feel free to add specific requests to your order notes and I'll do my best to fulfill them. The last photo was sent in by a customer and shows Gizmo the Galah with a pastel purple Smiley Cup.
Pinecones are great for your bird to chew. You can also hide treats inside them. These Pinecones have been briefly soaked in a solution of F10 veterinary disinfectant and lightly scrubbed to remove any debris, before being dried in the sun. You can also select to have holes drilled in them to thread them onto wire or a skewer yourself. These will be roughly 4.5mm holes that will suit most small skewers. Large skewers and ropes are generally unsuitable for Pinecones as I'm not able to drill larger holes in them without breaking the core. They are packed into a box with shredded paper, or into paper bags within the box for posting.
Straw Beads are small plastic tubes that can be used in toy making. They come in red, blue, green, orange and yellow. Use Straw Beads to safely close the opening in 'C' links (as pictured). This is important to keep your bird safe from getting their beak or other parts caught in the opening. C links not included and can be purchased separately.
A fun pack of safe, shreddable items for your bird to enjoy! This item replaces the goodies that come with the Hide N Seek toy, but they can be used in any refillable toy, or used in your own creation too! The pack comes with a decent handful of timber cubes in a variety of natural and coloured, 2 x vine balls measuring roughly 3 to 4cm in diameter that are normally natural/uncoloured (but sometimes come coloured) and a lovely mix of raffia rope pieces, which are fantastic for preening. All coloured items are dyed using bird safe food dyes. This item does not include the blue Hide N Seek toy/holder.
