A 30cm long, natural chew, full of lots of different natural seed pods and textures for your small to medium parrot to chew and explore.
One of the original and most popular “Kirsty’s Natural Bird Toys”, this toy is handmade with Australian Gumnuts, Casuarina, Banksia and Liquid Amber pods plus native branch pieces and a pinecone, threaded onto stainless steel wire. A loop is made at the top of the toy to attach a hanging link to.
You can add an element of foraging to your birds’ environment by hiding millet, pellets or other treats in the small openings in the dry seed pods, as shown in the example pictures.
Suits most breeds of birds or mixed cages as it is a good, in between size.
These natural toys are handmade and the seed pods are seasonally available. Therefore, every toy does differ and contains a mix of dry/open and green/closed seed pods. Please contact me before purchase if you have specific wishes or want to check availability of certain seed pods.

Large Baffle Cage0 out of 5$45.00
This is a high quality, sturdy foraging design that is great for all breeds of birds. Fill it with your bird’s fruits and vegetables as well as foot toys, blocks of wood, pinecones and banksia pods.
Your bird will need to reach through the gaps in the bars to access their rewards. You could make this harder by wrapping everything inside the toy with paper for them to chew open or lining the baffle cage with cardboard once your parrot has mastered it.
This toy is 100% stainless steel and measures 15 x 15cm across, while hanging a total of 40cm tall from a chain with quick link attachment. The bars are 2cm apart.
Foraging Wheel (First Generation)4.00 out of 5
There is a reason this original foraging wheel from Caitec is still around, it is great for feeding your birds’ dry food and treats and can be used by many breeds, including small parrots.
Fill with a mix of normal food or treats and a safe foraging substrate, to make the treats harder to get to. Your bird will need to turn the face of the wheel using the handle or the openings. This changes the position of the 2 openings and allows access to the 5 different compartments within the wheel. You can add chewable items to the mix for your bird to get their beak into. Mini and small Feather Weight Foot Toys fit well inside the compartments, as well as 2cm Vine Balls and small Yucca Pieces.
This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. It attaches to the side of the cage using the typical Creative Foraging Systems washer/screw provided which fits most cage and aviary bars.
The wheel is about 15cm in diameter and 3cm deep and best suits small and medium parrots and is not very suitable for Alexandrines due to their beak size. Check out the Generation II wheels for larger birds.
Large Acrylic Maze5.00 out of 5$47.50
This is a sturdy versatile foraging toy that is great for the most breeds of birds. Fill it with your bird’s favourite treats, and their normal diet.
Your bird will need to spin the maze by holding onto the opening and moving it around. The wheel spins freely and your bird can watch their food move from shelf to shelf until it reaches the opening. By adding bird safe foraging substrate, you can increase the difficulty of this maze once your bird is experienced at it. You can also use Mini Feather Weights as foraging foot toys inside the maze.
The maze itself is a sealed piece of acrylic and cannot be opened, it is tough and will stand up to the big beaks! The Large Maze measures 15cm in diameter and 3cm thick, it screws onto the side of the cage with the nut and bolt set, as well as 2 washers which fits all cage/aviary bars. The small is available in my store also.
Yucca Delight4.50 out of 5$15.50
This is a great, chewable toy that will help to keep your parrot amused. With lots of soft, chewy yucca along with some coloured wood blocks, threaded onto sisal rope, what’s not to love! Yucca is a type of plant and the long cream tubes pictured here are lengths of the yucca plants’ root. The inside of the root is very soft and fun to chew. You can also stuff seeds and treats into the yucca for your bird to forage out! (as pictured in the last photo).
Natives in the area Yucca grows, cook and eat the yucca root. Yucca is found in other toys in my store and in pieces as a foot toy or toy part. It is natural and safe! This toy measures 35cm long and 15.5cm wide and hangs from a nickel plated pear clip.
Medium Pipe Dream5.00 out of 5$20.00 – $21.00
The Pipe Dream is a foraging toy of Kirsty’s own making. They are made in 3 different sizes to suit a range of parrots and the medium is best suited to Cockatiels to Indian Ringnecks.
Your parrot just needs to lift the lid out of the way and reach their beak inside the pipe to retrieve their reward. You can mix seed/pellets with bird safe foraging substrate inside the toy or use larger items like nuts, beads or chunks of vegetables wrapped in paper. When first introducing this toy, you can use a piece of sticky tape to hold one lid open for your bird to learn where to find the food. After they have used it this way for a few days, you can remove the tape and let them pick the lid up themselves.
The stainless steel chain running through the toy, helps to hold the lids a little more securely to add some difficulty. Pacifiers adorn the ends of the chain.
The Pipe dream is made with bird safe, tough pvc and all hardware is stainless steel. There are acrylic beads and cardboard birdy bagels for your bird to play with too. At the top, there is an ‘o’ ring to attach your own hanging link to. There are 2 options for the type of lid you would like on this toy, for Cockatiels, small Conures, Quakers & most Lorikeets the plastic lid is suitable (first 2 images). For birds that like to destroy plastic, like larger Conures, Caiques, Indian Ringnecks then the tougher acrylic lid is best (last 2 images). The acrylic discs are all clear, coloured ones are not currently available.
For Budgies and Lovebirds, there is a small toy available and for Alexandrines to Macaws, the Large Pipe Dream is available and comes only with acrylic lids.
Sisal Orbit5.00 out of 5$37.50 – $38.70
Wow, check out this fun interactive climbing toy! The Sisal Orbit has a lot going on with safe, sisal rope surrounding the toy, colourful plastic chain hanging from the middle and a very dingly bell in the middle. Your small parrot will love this toy.
With a perch diameter of 1.3cm, it is an ideal size for Budgies through to Indian Ringnecks. Measures a total of 43cm high and 27cm wide. The diameter of just the ‘ball’ is 18cm. I can remove the bell for you if you’d prefer not to have it and I can also replace it with a pacifier hanging from the ‘o’ ring at the top of the inside if you’d like.
Feather Weight Foot Toy (Various Sizes)5.00 out of 5$0.50 – $2.00
These Featherweight foot toys are so versatile! You can use them for foraging as you can hide food in the ridges of each ‘bobble’ for your bird to dig out. They can be given as a foot toy, put inside many other foraging toys or hidden around the cage. The rings can also placed over perches to spin or strung on the chain/rope of many other toys. Because they are made as kids toys, with non-toxic plastic, they are as safe as possible for your bird to chew.
I use these daily for my own birds, hiding seeds and small pellets in the ridges and using them through the foraging toys in their cages. Take a look at all the videos in the tab below of the various foot toys in use.
Each ball or bobble is about 2cm in diameter and the different sizes are connected as per the images. The ring measures 9cm in total diameter.
They are available in blue, green, yellow, orange, pink and red as pictured and random colours will be chosen for you unless otherwise requested.
Sisal Boing 130cm Small (PT364)5.00 out of 5$27.00
The Small Sisal Boing by Paradise Toys is bouncy, jingly and great fun for your parrot to climb and swing from. The sisal rope is twisted around sturdy wire which makes this spiral easy to shape to a size that suits your cage or play area. With a total length of 130cm (when straight) and a perch diameter of 1.25cm, it is perfect for the feet of small parrots from Budgies through to Indian Ringnecks.
At the bottom of the boing is a very jingly bell and the toy hangs from a rotating hanger and small quick link.
It is great for play areas, aviaries and most cages. I use this in Avione’s popular 604 cage and it hangs nearly to the bottom at a normal spiral width, it can be changed to have a wide spiral width and be shorter for smaller cages.
Smarty Stick0 out of 5$9.00
The Smarty Stick is a small hanging foraging toy made out of hard timber. Each of the 6 coloured dots is removeable and has a ‘well’ underneath that you can hide small treats in for your bird to retrieve.
Put small pieces of nuts, flavoured pellets or a sunflower seed under the dot and teach your parrot to remove the dot to find the reward. The Smarty stick is 2.5cm thick and 10cm long but hangs nearly 20cm long from stainless steel chain and ‘o’ ring at the top. Hanging links can be purchased separately if required.
This toy is also available in my store in foot toy ring version. It is called the ‘Smarty Ring’.
The dots can be quite well hammered in at first, please let me know if you’d like my assistance removing them for the first time or if your parrot would prefer to dig them out themselves!
Hanging Sphere0 out of 5$19.90
This toy is perfectly designed for feeding your small parrot their fruits and vegetables. You could also fill with shredded paper, large pellets/nuts and parcels.
Your bird just needs to reach their beak into the slots/openings in this toy to pull out their prize! Wrapping your birds’ chunks of fruit and vegetables will prolong the enjoyment of this toy as your bird chews through the paper to get to their reward. Believe it or not, this toy can actually help to reduce mess and wastage. Every beak-full of food your bird gets out, he has to purposely chew/work for so more often than not, he’s not going to throw it all over your walls!
The Hanging Sphere is 8cm in diameter, 21cm long in total and is made from tough polycarbonate. It is best suited to birds with smaller beaks, for Indian Ringnecks and larger, the Buffet Ball is better suited.
