These colourful little tea cups are too cute to pass by!
With different faces on each cup and a handle that can be held my many breeds of birds, they make a great foot toy. Train your bird to hold it with their foot while they ‘drink’ out of the cup for a reward. You can use them as a toy part or just hang the cups in your birds cage. Mini Feather Weight Foot Toys fit well within the cup, as do 2cm Vine Balls and many pellets and smaller nuts. There is a video in the tab below showing the cup in use.
There is a gap in the handle, big enough for stainless steel ‘o’ rings and small rope to pass through to hang the cup or use it as a toy part. The faces/designs vary and a random selection will be chosen for your order, though feel free to add specific requests to your order notes and I’ll do my best to fulfill them.
The last photo was sent in by a customer and shows Gizmo the Galah with a pastel purple Smiley Cup.
These Feather Weight foot toys are so versatile! You can use them for foraging as you can hide food in the ridges of each 'bobble' for your bird to dig out. They can be given as a foot toy and the mini ones can be put inside many other foraging toys or hidden around the cage. The rings can be used as toy parts, hung from other toys, given as a foot toy or placed around your birds' perches. Because they are made as kids toys, with non-toxic plastic, they are as safe as possible for your bird to chew. I use these daily for my own birds, hiding seeds and small pellets in the ridges and using them through the foraging toys in their cages. Take a look at all the videos in the tab below of the various foot toys in use. Please note the videos also show the 'small and medium' ones in use. These sizes are currently unavailable, but the mini (single ball) and rings (5 balls in a loop) are available. Each ball is about 2cm in diameter and are available in blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple and red as pictured. A random selection of colours will be chosen for you unless otherwise requested.
These are super cute little maraca rattles that are great as a foot toy for an inquisitive parrot. There are small beads inside that clatter and rattle around making a pleasing sound for your bird. They can also be threaded onto wire or a very small 'O' ring through the roughly 2mm hole in the tip of the handle and used as a toy part. Each maraca measures about 7cm long and 2.5cm in diameter and the widest point. Colours are as displayed (purple, blue, pink, green and yellow) and a random selection will be chosen for you.
The plastic isn't sturdy enough to withstand the chewing of larger parrots but they make good foot toys with supervision and are great additions to the cage for non-destructive birds.
Vine Balls are a great, versatile item. They can be used as a chewable foot toy, put food inside and use it within a foraging toy or even on its' own as a foraging foot toy! Lastly, they make a great toy part as you can thread them onto wire, chain or rope as part of a toy. Each vine ball is made from wound grape vine and is roughly 2cm in diameter, but do vary as they are natural products. Larger vine balls are also available in my store.
Straw Beads are small plastic tubes that can be used in toy making. They come in red, blue, green, orange and yellow. Use Straw Beads to safely close the opening in 'C' links (as pictured). This is important to keep your bird safe from getting their beak or other parts caught in the opening. C links not included and can be purchased separately.
Photo coming soon. A 1m length of high quality stainless steel wire that is 0.8mm thick. This is the thinnest wire that I use and is easy to bend and shape with pliers or even fingers. For larger birds, I also have 1.6mm and 2mm wire.
Finger traps are crinkly little toy parts that can be used as foot toys, stuffed with shredded paper or food and threaded over perches. So much fun to be had! They're safe to chew and a favourite of many small parrots. Finger Traps come in 4 different colours as pictured. They can be purchased individually and a random colour will be selected for you. Where 4 or more are purchased, an even mix of colours will be selected.
A standard sized, small pear clip that is nickel plated and safe for most small parrots. Please use stainless steel if you are concerned about metals or the longevity of metals in an outdoor environment.
Always use quick links for large parrots or those that can un-do these clips. Many toys come with these links attached but please check as certain toys and ranges like Planet Pleasures and my own natural toys don't come with links so you can choose your own.
Pinecones are great for your bird to chew. You can also hide treats inside them. These Pinecones have been briefly soaked in a solution of F10 veterinary disinfectant and lightly scrubbed to remove any debris, before being dried in the sun. You can also select to have holes drilled in them to thread them onto wire or a skewer yourself. These will be roughly 4.5mm holes that will suit most small skewers. Large skewers and ropes are generally unsuitable for Pinecones as I'm not able to drill larger holes in them without breaking the core. They are packed into a box with shredded paper, or into paper bags within the box for posting.
This is the absolute safest type of toy hanging link available here. The large quick link is 100% stainless steel, including the clasp which is hexagonal in shape so can be easily tightened with pliers for those parrots that like to un-do clips. Always use quick links, tightened with pliers, for large or destructive parrots. Many toys come with the smaller pear clips attached. You can replace them with stainless steel quick links. Also check your purchases as certain toys and ranges like Planet Pleasures and my own natural toys don't come with links so you can choose your own. The Quick Links measure 4cm long, 1.7cm wide and the opening is 6mm. Stainless steel grade 316.
Finger traps are crinkly little toy parts that can be used as foot toys, stuffed with shredded paper or food and threaded over perches. So much fun to be had! They're safe to chew and a favourite of many small parrots. These finger traps are vibrantly coloured and all the same (no variation). I also sell standard colours of finger traps.
