Feather Weight Foot Toy (Various Sizes)
$0.50 – $2.00
These Featherweight foot toys are so versatile! You can use them for foraging as you can hide food in the ridges of each ‘bobble’ for your bird to dig out. They can be given as a foot toy, put inside many other foraging toys or hidden around the cage. The rings can also placed over perches to spin or strung on the chain/rope of many other toys. Because they are made as kids toys, with non-toxic plastic, they are as safe as possible for your bird to chew.
I use these daily for my own birds, hiding seeds and small pellets in the ridges and using them through the foraging toys in their cages. Take a look at all the videos in the tab below of the various foot toys in use.
Each ball or bobble is about 2cm in diameter and the different sizes are connected as per the images. The ring measures 9cm in total diameter.
They are available in blue, green, yellow, orange, pink and red as pictured and random colours will be chosen for you unless otherwise requested.

Nuts About Casuarina5.00 out of 5$10.50 – $13.00
A 20cm long, natural chew for small parrots. One of the original “Kirsty’s Natural Bird Toys”, this toy is handmade with Australian native seed pods and other natural parts like yucca, threaded onto stainless steel wire. A loop is made at the top of the toy to attach a hanging link to.
You can add an element of foraging to your birds’ environment by hiding millet, pellets or other treats in the small openings in the dry seed pods, as shown in the last 2 pictures as an example.
These natural toys are handmade and the seed pods are seasonally available. Therefore, every toy does differ and contains a mix of dry/open and green/closed seed pods. Please contact me before purchase if you have specific wishes or want to check availability of certain seed pods.
Hanging Box Feeder0 out of 5$17.00
The Creative Foraging Systems Hanging Box Feeder toy is great for feeding your birds’ dry food and treats. Fill with bird safe foraging substrate to make the food harder to get to and more time consuming for your bird.
Your can introduce this to your bird at an easy level, without any covering at first. Once they know there’s food in the toy, you can start covering it with the sleeves provided for them to work more for their food. Your clever parrot will need to chew open the cardboard box to access the rewards inside! The cardboard sleeves come with various perforated openings that you can remove as ‘windows’ to the food inside, another great way to adjust the difficulty as your bird learns. The Hanging Box Feeder comes with 2 sleeves in the pack already and refill packs of 5 sleeves can be purchased separately.
This toy is made from clear polycarbonate and hangs on a short chain with pear clip to attach it to your birds’ cage.
Snuggle Safe Heat Pad0 out of 5$57.00
Feeling the cold? As the temperature cools down, these Snuggle Safe Heat Pads are a great, SAFE way to keep your parrot warm. With no electric cords or chewable surfaces, this is the safest way to do it.
Microwave for about 8 minutes (see instructions for different microwaves) and it stays warm for nearly 10 hours so it’s great for overnight. The heat pad comes with a fleece cover, though I choose to not have fabrics near my birds and it works just fine without the cover.
Small Pipe Dream5.00 out of 5$15.50
The Pipe Dream is a foraging toy of Kirsty’s own design. They are made in 3 different sizes to suit a range of parrots and the small is best suited to Budgies and Lovebirds.
Your small parrot just needs to push the plastic lid to the side and reach their beak inside the pipe to retrieve their reward, normally some millet or pellets mixed with some bird safe foraging substrate. When first introducing this toy, you can use a piece of sticky tape to hold one lid open for your bird to learn where to find the food. After they have used it this way for a few days, you can remove the tape and let them pick the lid up themselves.
For Cockatiels and other small parrots, I recommend the medium toy. The Pipe dream is made with bird safe plastic and pvc and all hardware is stainless steel. There is an ‘o’ ring at the top to attach your own hanging link to.
Sisal Orbit0 out of 5$37.50 – $38.70
Wow, check out this fun interactive climbing toy! The Sisal Orbit has a lot going on with safe, sisal rope surrounding the toy, colourful plastic chain hanging from the middle and a very dingly bell in the middle. Your small parrot will love this toy.
With a perch diameter of 1.3cm, it is an ideal size for Budgies through to Indian Ringnecks. Measures a total of 43cm high and 27cm wide. The diameter of just the ‘ball’ is 18cm. I can remove the bell for you if you’d prefer not to have it and I can also replace it with a pacifier hanging from the ‘o’ ring at the top of the inside if you’d like.
Buffet Ball (3″)4.00 out of 5$13.50
This toy is perfectly designed for feeding your bird fruits and vegetables. You could also fill with shredded paper, large pellets/nuts and parcels.
Your bird just needs to reach their beak into the slots/openings in this toy to pull out their prize! Wrapping your birds’ chunks of fruit and vegetables will prolong the enjoyment of this toy as your bird chews through the paper to get to their reward. Believe it or not, this toy can actually help to reduce mess and wastage. Every beak-full of food your bird gets out, he has to purposely chew/work for so more often than not, he’s not going to throw it all over your walls!
This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. This is a loose, individual toy. It can be hung from a skewer (various options shown below), hung by a large hanging loop or used as a foot toy for a very large parrot or placed in a foraging bowl.
The Buffet Ball is 9cm in diameter and each of the 12 slots (6 per half) is about 4cm long and 8-12mm wide. This is a versatile toy that suits most parrots.
Also known as the 3″ Party Ball. The 5″ Party Ball is shown in the last image and also available in my store.
Sisal Boing 130cm Small (PT364)5.00 out of 5$27.00
The Small Sisal Boing by Paradise Toys is bouncy, jingly and great fun for your parrot to climb and swing from. The sisal rope is twisted around sturdy wire which makes this spiral easy to shape to a size that suits your cage or play area. With a total length of 130cm (when straight) and a perch diameter of 1.25cm, it is perfect for the feet of small parrots from Budgies through to Indian Ringnecks.
At the bottom of the boing is a very jingly bell and the toy hangs from a rotating hanger and small quick link.
It is great for play areas, aviaries and most cages. I use this in Avione’s popular 604 cage and it hangs nearly to the bottom at a normal spiral width, it can be changed to have a wide spiral width and be shorter for smaller cages.
Large Pipe Dream0 out of 5$24.00
The Pipe Dream is a foraging toy of Kirsty’s own making. They are made in 3 different sizes to suit a range of parrots and the large is best suited to Alexandrines through to Macaws.
Your large parrot just needs to lift the clear acrylic lid out of the way and reach their beak inside the pipe to retrieve their reward. You can mix seed/pellets with bird safe foraging substrate inside the toy or use larger items like nuts, beads or chunks of vegetables wrapped in paper. When first introducing this toy, you can use a piece of sticky tape to hold one lid open for your bird to learn where to find the food. After they have used it this way for a few days, you can remove the tape and let them pick the lid up themselves.
The stainless steel chain running through the toy, helps to hold the lids a little more securely to add some difficulty. Pacifiers adorn the ends of the chain.
For Indian Ringnecks and smaller parrots, I recommend the medium toy. The Pipe dream is made with bird safe and tough acrylic (now clear, not coloured) and pvc plus all hardware is stainless steel. There are acrylic beads and cardboard birdy bagels for your bird to play with too. At the top, there is an ‘o’ ring to attach your own hanging link to.
Super Bird Bell Ball0 out of 5
Bottom’s Up5.00 out of 5$32.00
This is a very popular foraging toy that is great for the smaller breeds of birds. It is easy to teach your bird to use and can also be made more difficult. Fill it with your bird’s favourite treats, and their normal diet, mixed with bird safe foraging substrate. You can use Mini Feather Weight Foot toys, vine balls and other items in this toy as well as treats. The photos show the toy with these items in use. It comes brand new and empty.
Your bird will need to lift the light, plastic lid and reach their head into the cup to access their reward. The cups and lids move around freely on a long length of nickel plated chain. While your bird is learning to use the toy, you can sticky tape the lids open or partially open to make it easier for them. Then change to no tape, with the lids sitting loosely once your parrot knows that they can get the food with the lid lifted. You can even start sticky taping the lids closed once your parrot is really good at this toy! They will need to chew through the tape to open the lid! (avian vet recommended/safe).
Measures 43cm long (including pear clip and bell) and 6.5cm wide.
