This toy is perfectly designed for feeding your large bird fruits, vegetables and foraging treats. You can fill it with shredded paper, large pellets/nuts and parcels as well as pine cones, timber pieces and gumnuts.
Your bird just needs to reach their beak into the slots/openings in this toy to pull out their prize! Wrapping your birds’ chunks of fruit and vegetables will prolong the enjoyment of this toy as your bird chews through the paper to get to their reward.
The Party Ball is made from tough polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. It is 12cm in diameter and has a range of round holes (1.5cm) and oval slots (3.5 x 1.5cm) for your bird to use. This is a loose, individual toy and can be hung from the skewers shown below or placed in a foraging bowl.
The smaller 3″ Party Ball (aka Buffet Ball) is pictured in the last photo and also available in my store.
A high quality and very safe stainless steel skewer that can be used to hang fruits and vegetables, foraging balls, foraging boxes and all kinds of other items in your birds’ cage. Also great for Rabbits and pocket pets.
This skewer is different in that the end cannot be unscrewed, a great solution for larger birds or those that make it their mission to un-do all their toys! The clever design by this brand means that your parrot cannot sufficiently grip the part that un-screws, to be able to un-do it. The ball end is made from hard parrot-safe plastic. Better yet, you can hang the skewer by holding the metal part inside the cage and the ball outside, then screw together, through the bars so that the ball sits on the outside.
The skewer is 22cm long and does not include a hanging link. These can be purchased separately or hang as described and you don’t need one. Suitable for all breeds of parrots and cages up to 1″ bar spacing. See my store for the larger sizes available too!
This is the Hangin’ Round Skewer with the small sized skewer width and ball and a 8″ long skewer. There is a 12″ and 18″ length available with a larger sized skewer width and ball. I also stock other brands of small skewers to choose from, though Hangin’ Round is the highest quality of them.
A safe stainless steel skewer that can be used to hang fruits and vegetables, foraging balls, foraging boxes and all kinds of other items in your birds’ cage.
The skewer is 25cm long and includes a large stainless steel quick link. Suitable for small to medium parrots. Not recommended for large parrots or those that chew as the skewer attaches to a rod of hard plastic before a loop comes out to hang from the quick link. See the Hangin’ Round Skewer for larger parrots.
This is a big, sturdy foraging toy that is great for the larger breeds of birds. Put your birds’ favourite treats, beads or normal food in this toy for your bird to work for. The Mini Feather Weight Foraging Foot Toys also fit well in the Tug n Slide.
Your bird will need to grasp the handle of the slider plate and move it back and forth for the reward to move between the 3 levels inside the toy. Then, when it’s in the bottom chamber, they need to pull the leather strap at the bottom of the toy to move the platform down and allow the reward to fall into the retrieval tray.
This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and is dishwasher safe. The toy itself is measures 28cm long and 13 x 11cm wide and deep (includes width of slide plate). Including the chain and leather strap, it is 60cm long and attaches to cage with large, stainless steel quick link.
There is also the option for me to replace the leather strap with a stainless steel ‘o’ ring connected to a regular pacifier for you bird to pull on instead, as most birds will chew up or untie the leather very quickly.
These are the refill packs of boxes that fit the SMALL cage mounted box feeder foraging toy by Creative Foraging Systems. These are more than just boxes, they come with a ‘honeycomb divider’ to separate the box into 8 compartments, prolonging the foraging enjoyment!
Made from a solid, crunchy chipboard/cardboard mix, they’re great for small beaks to chew. Each box has removable openings to make it accessible to your bird while they’re learning to use the toy.
The Turn n Learn Logs is a great foraging toy that can be a challenge even for the smartest of parrots. It’s a very time consuming toy and requires some patience and skill.
Your bird will need to unscrew each of the opaque, blue logs to access the compartment in the bottom of each log, where treats, toys and beads can be hidden. Mini Feather Weight Foot Toys and 2cm Vine Balls fit well within the compartments as foraging items. Birds will generally use their beaks to chew the logs in the opposite direction to each other in order to open it, but some larger parrots may use their feet to hold the lower log too.
Each log is rougly 5.5cm in diameter and hangs just over 30cm long when screwed shut and 55cm long when unscrewed. It attaches to the cage with a quick link.
This is a very popular foraging toy that is great for the smaller breeds of birds. It is easy to teach your bird to use and can also be made more difficult. Fill it with your bird’s favourite treats, and their normal diet. You can use Mini Feather Weight Foot toys, vine balls and other items in this toy as well as treats.
Your bird will need to lift the light, plastic lid and reach their head into the cup to access their reward. The cups and lids move around freely on a long length of nickel plated chain.

Your bird will need to lift the light, plastic lid and reach their head into the cup to access their reward. The cups and lids move around freely on a long length of nickel plated chain. While your bird is learning to use the toy, you can sticky tape the lids open or partially open to make it easier for them. Then change to no tape, with the lids sitting loosely once your parrot knows that they can get the food with the lid lifted. You can even start sticky taping the lids closed once your parrot is really good at this toy! They will need to chew through the tape to open the lid! (avian vet recommended/safe).
Measures 43cm long (including pear clip and bell) and 6.5cm wide.
The Smarty Ring is a foraging foot toy made out of hard timber. Each coloured dot is removeable and has a ‘well’ underneath that you can hide small treats in for your bird to retrieve.
The toy comes with a coloured plastic bead under each dot which can be removed or left in if your bird likes beads. Put small pieces of nuts, flavoured pellets or a sunflower seed under the dot and teach your parrot to remove the dot to find the reward.
This toy is also available in my store in a hanging, slim version which is better for smaller birds. It is called the ‘Smarty Stick’.
The toy often comes with the dots quite well hammered in at first, please let me know if you’d like my assistance removing them for the first time or if your parrot would prefer to dig them out themselves!
This wooden flower pot can hold small treats or beads for the extra clever foragers out there.
A stiff vegetable tanned leather flower is held in place over the top of the flower pot by a stainless steel wing nut wound onto a stainless steel bolt. Your bird must undo the wing nut to remove the vegetable tanned leather flower and get inside to the treat! We recommend using dry food only for this foraging toy.
Measures 6cm long and 4.5cm wide and is suitable for medium to large parrots, though smaller breeds could use this toy if it were mounted on the cage bars or placed in a bowl.
The Creative Foraging Systems Hanging Box Feeder toy is great for feeding your birds’ dry food and treats. Fill with bird safe foraging substrate to make the food harder to get to and more time consuming for your bird.
Your can introduce this to your bird at an easy level, without any covering at first. Once they know there’s food in the toy, you can start covering it with the sleeves provided for them to work more for their food. Your clever parrot will need to chew open the cardboard box to access the rewards inside! The cardboard sleeves come with various perforated openings that you can remove as ‘windows’ to the food inside, another great way to adjust the difficulty as your bird learns. The Hanging Box Feeder comes with 2 sleeves in the pack already and refill packs of 5 sleeves can be purchased separately.
This toy is made from clear polycarbonate and hangs on a short chain with pear clip to attach it to your birds’ cage.
This toy is great for feeding your birds’ dry food and treats. Fill the compartments with a foraging substrate to make the treats harder to get to.
The spinning carousel has 4 compartments with lids that open different ways. The whole toy spins on an axis and has perching areas in between for ease of use. A great way to make this toy even more interesting and add some challenge for your bird, is to use foraging foot toys inside the compartments. Items like Mini Feather Weights, 2cm Vine Balls and small Yucca Pieces work well in the Carousel.
The Carousel toy is ideal for small parrots: Cockatiels to Indian Ringnecks. It is made from tough polycarbonate and is sturdy. However, due to the nature of one of the lids, it is possible for larger or destructive birds to remove the lid from the ‘corner swivel lid’ in particular. The toy can be used by (and is great for) Alexandrines, Galahs, Corellas, Cockatoos, Eclectus Parrots, African Greys etc however, please be aware that they MAY break this lid off. Smaller parrots generally don’t do this.
This is a super versatile little foraging toy that is easy to use and can be made harder for your birds. Hide nuts, toys, pinecones, gumnuts etc, shredded paper, blocks of wood, cuttle fish bones, fruit or vege chunks in this toy for your bird to chew out.
To use this toy, your bird simply needs to choose his/her target and get chewing! There are a total of 10 slots/opening in this toy to choose from. For expert foragers, you can easily make this toy harder by lining underneath/inside the openings with thick cardboard to chew through. The back of the toy unclips to make refilling a breeze without having to unscrew it from the bars (can be removed and refilled within an aviary also).
Measures 10 X 17.5cm, this toy is made from tough polycarbonate.
It comes only in blue and includes the refill pack with wood blocks, shredded paper and a few vine balls as pictured. Screws to the side of the cage with a polycarbonate screw/washer that fits most cage and aviary bars. Further refill packs can be purchased in the online store also, see the linked product below.
