A selection of 5 pieces of Yucca. Yucca is a type of plant and these pieces of dried plant stalk are bird safe, soft and chewable. Parrots, small and large love munching on the soft, fibrous natural material. It’s great to give as a foot toy or thread onto other toys. You can poke a hole with skewer, wire or scissors and hang it in your birds’ cage. By making small holes in the Yucca and pushing dry food treats into it, you can make this a foraging foot toy also.
You will receive a pack of 5 pieces, as pictured – 2 discs, 2 quarter pieces and a half piece. The half is from a larger disc so is a decent size and all slices are roughly 2cm thick. These can all be cut to smaller pieces easily with a stanley blade so can make more than 5 pieces. As a natural item, the pieces do vary and can have ‘imperfections’ and areas of different colours.
These yucca slices have come from the ‘Bird Kabob’ 20 pack (shown below), which I have opened and divided into even packs of 5 pieces each for those wanting to try a smaller amount.
The last photo is an example of how food can be stuck in the yucca.
This is a great, chewable toy that will help to keep your parrot amused. With lots of soft, chewy yucca along with some coloured wood blocks, threaded onto sisal rope, what's not to love! Yucca is a type of plant and the long cream tubes pictured here are lengths of the yucca plants' root. The inside of the root is very soft and fun to chew. You can also stuff seeds and treats into the yucca for your bird to forage out! (as pictured in the last photo).Natives in the area Yucca grows, cook and eat the yucca root. Yucca is found in other toys in my store and in pieces as a foot toy or toy part. It is natural and safe! This toy measures 35cm long and 15.5cm wide and hangs from a nickel plated pear clip. Yucca, also known as 'yukka'.

The Chiquito toy is made with lots of pieces of thick, soft Yucca logs, some coloured with bird-safe food colouring. All hung on thin sisal rope, hanging a total of 30cm long. It does not come with a hanging link which can be purchased separately. Yucca, also known as 'yukka'.
This is a very smart and well designed foraging toy for experienced foragers and is suitable for most small breeds of birds, as well as medium ones.Fill the top compartment with pellets/seeds/pieces of nut treats and some foraging substrate. Your bird will need to turn both the wheel at the top and then the wheel at the bottom of the toy. This spins the paddles, moving the food from level to level until it falls into the tray below for your bird to retrieve. The windmill is made from tough polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. *Note - the toy does have a small (stainless steel) wing nut that holds the lid of this toy on. This wingnut does spin with the bottom wheel so it would be tricky for most birds to unscrew without help. If this is an issue for your bird, avoid this toy or outsmart them by placing it only a cm from the ceiling of the cage, so they can turn the wheel but not access the screw! Measures roughly 23cm tall an 9cm in diameter. Screws onto the side of the cage with 2 of the polycarbonate washer/screws and fits most cage and aviary bars.
Vine Balls are a great, versatile item. They can be used as a chewable foot toy, put food inside and use it within a foraging toy or even on its' own as a foraging foot toy! Lastly, they make a great toy part as you can thread them onto wire, chain or rope as part of a toy. Each vine ball is made from wound grape vine and is roughly 2cm in diameter, but do vary as they are natural products. Larger vine balls are also available in my store.
This is a time consuming, fun toy for your parrot to work with, as well as being durable and sturdy! Fill the toy from the opening in the top then turn the top cover. Your clever parrot will need to spin each level to line up the openings so the reward falls to the treat opening at the bottom of the toy. The levels spin freely and your bird can watch their food move closer and closer until it reaches the opening. This toy is made from tough, polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. It comes in clear only though you may see the old, coloured version in some videos.
Measures 16cm tall and 8cm in diameter. The whole toy, hanging on chain is 39cm long and attaches to the cage with a quick link. The Rings of Fortune toy arrives from the manufacturer with a pear clip attaching the chain to the body of the toy. I find this unsafe as many medium and large parrots can undo these pear clips and have the potential to get their beak caught on it in play. Because of this I change the attachment to a stainless steel medium 'O' ring, provided by me and safely attached (closed, safe for beaks!).
These Feather Weight foot toys are so versatile! You can use them for foraging as you can hide food in the ridges of each 'bobble' for your bird to dig out. They can be given as a foot toy and the mini ones can be put inside many other foraging toys or hidden around the cage. The rings can be used as toy parts, hung from other toys, given as a foot toy or placed around your birds' perches. Because they are made as kids toys, with non-toxic plastic, they are as safe as possible for your bird to chew. I use these daily for my own birds, hiding seeds and small pellets in the ridges and using them through the foraging toys in their cages. Take a look at all the videos in the tab below of the various foot toys in use. Please note the videos also show the 'small and medium' ones in use. These sizes are currently unavailable, but the mini (single ball) and rings (5 balls in a loop) are available. Each ball is about 2cm in diameter and are available in blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple and red as pictured. A random selection of colours will be chosen for you unless otherwise requested.
The Snack Rack is a great foraging puzzle for parrots that has 2 main difficulty levels. Hide treats, toys, pellets, fruit or vege chunks within the Snack Rack for your bird to get out. Your bird will need to turn the outer pieces which rotate around the main body of the toy. Great for small parrots (eg Conures, Quakers, Lorikeets) that are experienced with other foraging designs, as well as for all medium and large breeds of parrots. Each of the 2 outer pieces has an indent which allows the piece to pass over the middle shelf which has a protruding piece. Start the toy at an easier level by having the treat at the top so your bird just needs to turn the pieces until one falls down to reveal the treat. For Alexandrines and larger parrots, you can later increase the difficulty by putting the treat in the bottom level and your bird will need to turn and LIFT the top level to get it over the shelf above it, before retrieving their reward. This can be seen in the videos below. Please note, this toy used to come in a translucent green colour, as you will see in the videos. It now comes as completely clear.Parrots are very clever, but won't automatically know how to use this toy. Be sure to introduce this toy to them at an easy level and gradually make it more difficult - show them how to use it, let them win!
This is a big, sturdy foraging toy that is great for the larger breeds of birds. Put your birds' favourite treats, beads or normal food in this toy for your bird to work for. The Mini Feather Weight Foraging Foot Toys also fit well in the Tug n Slide. Your bird will need to grasp the handle of the slider plate and move it back and forth for the reward to move between the 3 levels inside the toy. Then, when it's in the bottom chamber, they need to pull the leather strap at the bottom of the toy to move the platform down and allow the reward to fall into the retrieval tray. This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and is dishwasher safe. The toy itself is measures 28cm long and 13 x 11cm wide and deep (includes width of slide plate). Including the chain and leather strap, it is 60cm long and attaches to cage with large, stainless steel quick link. There is also the option for me to replace the leather strap with a stainless steel 'o' ring connected to a regular pacifier for you bird to pull on instead, as most birds will chew up or untie the leather very quickly.
This is a fun little puzzle toy for your parrot to explore and find treats in.
To use this foraging toy, your bird needs to turn the inner shaft of the toy using the forked handle at the front. The barrel can lock in either direction and only by turning the shaft to the central position, will it slide out to reveal the treat opening. This toy is made from tough, polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. The barrel itself is 4 x 7cm when closed and hangs from a chain with small quick link, totaling 28cm long.
This is a super cute little toy that combines shredding fun and foraging! Sprinkle some seed or pellets in the natural, woven basket as well as treats/foot toys/beads in the 2 smiley mugs, hanging below the basket. The mugs hold a 2cm Vine Ball or Mini Feather Weight perfectly as a foraging foot toy for your bird to find (see the videos)! The 4cm birdy bagel tube between the basket and the rubber duck is stuffed with colourful, crinkle paper and is another great place to hide a foraging parcel for your bird. There is a bell, c links and mini pacifiers at the bottom for your bird to play with as well!Measures 23cm long and 13cm in diameter and the cups come in various colours as shown.
This is a very popular foraging toy that is great for the smaller breeds of birds. It is easy to teach your bird to use and can also be made more difficult. Fill it with your bird's favourite treats, and their normal diet, mixed with bird safe foraging substrate. You can use Mini Feather Weight Foot toys, vine balls and other items in this toy as well as treats. The photos show the toy with these items in use. It comes brand new and empty. Your bird will need to lift the light, plastic lid and reach their head into the cup to access their reward. The cups and lids move around freely on a long length of nickel plated chain. While your bird is learning to use the toy, you can sticky tape the lids open or partially open to make it easier for them. Then change to no tape, with the lids sitting loosely once your parrot knows that they can get the food with the lid lifted. You can even start sticky taping the lids closed once your parrot is really good at this toy! They will need to chew through the tape to open the lid! (avian vet recommended/safe). Measures 43cm long (including pear clip and bell) and 6.5cm wide.
The Turn n Learn Logs is a great foraging toy that can be a challenge even for the smartest of parrots. It's a very time consuming toy and requires some patience and skill. Your bird will need to unscrew each of the opaque, blue logs to access the compartment in the bottom of each log, where treats, toys and beads can be hidden. Mini Feather Weight Foot Toys and 2cm Vine Balls fit well within the compartments as foraging items. Birds will generally use their beaks to chew the logs in the opposite direction to each other in order to open it, but some larger parrots may use their feet to hold the lower log too.
Each log is rougly 5.5cm in diameter and hangs just over 30cm long when screwed shut and 55cm long when unscrewed. It attaches to the cage with a quick link.
