This has long been one of my favourite foraging toy designs – the Buster Food Cube is a great toy with a clever design. The cube has compartments inside which means food doesn’t move around quite as freely as it would in a hollow item. Your pets’ dry treats and/or kibble will move through the internal components, like navigating a maze to reach the exit. The inner shaft of the toy also has just round 2 openings within, making more of a challenge for your clever pooch to get their biscuits out.
It is simple to fill and can fit a whole meal for your pet (though we recommend to spread their meal between a number of toys each day, to keep them engaged). To easily clean and fill the Buster Food cube the interior shaft of the toy, which is a different colour, can be removed. Once the toy has your pets’ meal or some treats inside, simply twist the shaft to lock it into place.
This toy is suitable for small dogs (under 10kg), cats, large parrots and rabbits. It comes in 4 great colours. For larger dogs, please see the larger sized cube. While the Buster Food Cube is made from hard plastic and not designed for chewing, the shape also makes it difficult for dogs to get their mouth around to pick up and chew.
The cousin of the popular 'Buster Food Cube', the Buster Food Ball is a little bit easier of a toy to use - but not too easy! While the ball shape means it rolls around with more ease, it still has all the wonderful compartments inside the ball to slow the food down from exiting the toy. Your pet will need to roll this ball around with their paws and nose to get the food moving through the maze tracks inside, before it falls via the 2 openings in the central shaft. The inner shaft is removable for easy filling and cleaning. Lock it in and watch your dog work at their meal. Always introduce new foraging toys to your pet with supervision and guidance. The Buster Food Ball comes in 2 sizes, this is the small. While blue and red are both pictured, only red is available currently.
The Busy Buddy Kibble Nibble toy mentally and physically stimulates your dog by randomly dispensing treats during play, turning dog meal times into play times. This oval shaped ball has soft, rubbery ridges which helps to stop and slow the ball as well as having it roll in an irregular way, with the added bonus of protecting the surfaces that it is rolled on. The Kibble Nibbles is suitable only for dry biscuits and treats, it will dispense food as your pooch rolls the toy around. The Kibble Nibble comes in 2 sizes, the small is approximately 12cm long x 10cm wide, suitable for dogs under 15kg. While the large is approximately 16cm long x 15cm wide and for dogs over 15kg. The toy unscrews for easy filling and cleaning. This is a great foraging toy that is easy to get your pet started on and continue to use even once they're experienced foragers. Do keep in mind that it is not ruggedly tough so may not be suitable for dogs that are destructive or like to chew. I would recommend the Kong Wobbler large or Busy Buddy Twist n Treat for these pets. Please do contact me for further suggestions also :)

We are very excited to announce the new KONG Gyro toy! It is sure to entertain with irresistible roll and flip action that entices and intrigues dogs. The dynamic center spinning orb and static outer ring encourages dogs to push, paw and roll the Gyro, delightfully dispensing tasty treat rewards along the way. Ideal for independent play, stuff with treats or kibble for extended play and meal time. The 2 halves screw apart for easy filling and cleaning. Available in large and small sizes. The large is suitable for dogs over 10kg and the small is suitable for dogs under 10kg, as well as for cats, chickens and other small animals like guinea pigs and rabbits.
This is a time consuming, fun toy for your parrot to work with, as well as being durable and sturdy! Fill the toy from the opening in the top then turn the top cover. Your clever parrot will need to spin each level to line up the openings so the reward falls to the treat opening at the bottom of the toy. The levels spin freely and your bird can watch their food move closer and closer until it reaches the opening. This toy is made from tough, polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. It comes in clear only though you may see the old, coloured version in some videos.
Measures 16cm tall and 8cm in diameter. The whole toy, hanging on chain is 39cm long and attaches to the cage with a quick link. The Rings of Fortune toy arrives from the manufacturer with a pear clip attaching the chain to the body of the toy. I find this unsafe as many medium and large parrots can undo these pear clips and have the potential to get their beak caught on it in play. Because of this I change the attachment to a stainless steel medium 'O' ring, provided by me and safely attached (closed, safe for beaks!).
This toy is great for feeding your birds' dry food and treats. Fill the compartments with a foraging substrate to make the treats harder to get to.
The spinning carousel has 4 compartments with lids that open different ways. The whole toy spins on an axis and has perching areas in between for ease of use. A great way to make this toy even more interesting and add some challenge for your bird, is to use foraging foot toys inside the compartments. Items like Mini Feather Weights, 2cm Vine Balls and small Yucca Pieces work well in the Carousel. The Carousel toy is ideal for small parrots: Cockatiels to Indian Ringnecks. It is made from tough polycarbonate and is sturdy. However, due to the nature of one of the lids, it is possible for larger or destructive birds to remove the lid from the 'corner swivel lid' in particular. The toy can be used by (and is great for) Alexandrines, Galahs, Corellas, Cockatoos, Eclectus Parrots, African Greys etc however, please be aware that they MAY break this lid off. Smaller parrots generally don't do this.
These are the refill packs of boxes that fit the SMALL cage mounted box feeder foraging toy by Creative Foraging Systems. These are more than just boxes, they come with a 'honeycomb divider' to separate the box into 8 compartments, prolonging the foraging enjoyment!Made from a solid, crunchy chipboard/cardboard mix, they're great for small beaks to chew. Each box has removable openings to make it accessible to your bird while they're learning to use the toy.
The Snack Rack is a great foraging puzzle for parrots that has 2 main difficulty levels. Hide treats, toys, pellets, fruit or vege chunks within the Snack Rack for your bird to get out. Your bird will need to turn the outer pieces which rotate around the main body of the toy. Great for small parrots (eg Conures, Quakers, Lorikeets) that are experienced with other foraging designs, as well as for all medium and large breeds of parrots. Each of the 2 outer pieces has an indent which allows the piece to pass over the middle shelf which has a protruding piece. Start the toy at an easier level by having the treat at the top so your bird just needs to turn the pieces until one falls down to reveal the treat. For Alexandrines and larger parrots, you can later increase the difficulty by putting the treat in the bottom level and your bird will need to turn and LIFT the top level to get it over the shelf above it, before retrieving their reward. This can be seen in the videos below. Please note, this toy used to come in a translucent green colour, as you will see in the videos. It now comes as completely clear.Parrots are very clever, but won't automatically know how to use this toy. Be sure to introduce this toy to them at an easy level and gradually make it more difficult - show them how to use it, let them win!
The Creative Foraging Systems Hanging Box Feeder toy is great for feeding your birds' dry food and treats. Fill with bird safe foraging substrate to make the food harder to get to and more time consuming for your bird. Your can introduce this to your bird at an easy level, without any covering at first. Once they know there's food in the toy, you can start covering it with the sleeves provided for them to work more for their food. Your clever parrot will need to chew open the cardboard box to access the rewards inside! The cardboard sleeves come with various perforated openings that you can remove as 'windows' to the food inside, another great way to adjust the difficulty as your bird learns. The Hanging Box Feeder comes with 2 sleeves in the pack already and refill packs of 5 sleeves can be purchased separately. This toy is made from clear polycarbonate and hangs on a short chain with pear clip to attach it to your birds' cage.
This is a big, sturdy foraging toy that is great for the larger breeds of birds. Put your birds' favourite treats, beads or normal food in this toy for your bird to work for. The Mini Feather Weight Foraging Foot Toys also fit well in the Tug n Slide. Your bird will need to grasp the handle of the slider plate and move it back and forth for the reward to move between the 3 levels inside the toy. Then, when it's in the bottom chamber, they need to pull the leather strap at the bottom of the toy to move the platform down and allow the reward to fall into the retrieval tray. This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and is dishwasher safe. The toy itself is measures 28cm long and 13 x 11cm wide and deep (includes width of slide plate). Including the chain and leather strap, it is 60cm long and attaches to cage with large, stainless steel quick link. There is also the option for me to replace the leather strap with a stainless steel 'o' ring connected to a regular pacifier for you bird to pull on instead, as most birds will chew up or untie the leather very quickly.
This is a very smart and well designed foraging toy for experienced foragers and is suitable for most small breeds of birds, as well as medium ones.Fill the top compartment with pellets/seeds/pieces of nut treats and some foraging substrate. Your bird will need to turn both the wheel at the top and then the wheel at the bottom of the toy. This spins the paddles, moving the food from level to level until it falls into the tray below for your bird to retrieve. The windmill is made from tough polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. *Note - the toy does have a small (stainless steel) wing nut that holds the lid of this toy on. This wingnut does spin with the bottom wheel so it would be tricky for most birds to unscrew without help. If this is an issue for your bird, avoid this toy or outsmart them by placing it only a cm from the ceiling of the cage, so they can turn the wheel but not access the screw! Measures roughly 23cm tall an 9cm in diameter. Screws onto the side of the cage with 2 of the polycarbonate washer/screws and fits most cage and aviary bars.
The Smarty Ring is a foraging foot toy made out of hard timber. Each coloured dot is removeable and has a 'well' underneath that you can hide small treats in for your bird to retrieve. The toy comes with a coloured plastic bead under each dot which can be removed or left in if your bird likes beads. Put small pieces of nuts, flavoured pellets or a sunflower seed under the dot and teach your parrot to remove the dot to find the reward. This toy is also available in my store in a hanging, slim version which is better for smaller birds. It is called the 'Smarty Stick'. The toy often comes with the dots quite well hammered in at first, please let me know if you'd like my assistance removing them for the first time or if your parrot would prefer to dig them out themselves!
This is a super cute little toy that combines shredding fun and foraging! Sprinkle some seed or pellets in the natural, woven basket as well as treats/foot toys/beads in the 2 smiley mugs, hanging below the basket. The mugs hold a 2cm Vine Ball or Mini Feather Weight perfectly as a foraging foot toy for your bird to find (see the videos)! The 4cm birdy bagel tube between the basket and the rubber duck is stuffed with colourful, crinkle paper and is another great place to hide a foraging parcel for your bird. There is a bell, c links and mini pacifiers at the bottom for your bird to play with as well!Measures 23cm long and 13cm in diameter and the cups come in various colours as shown.
There is a reason this original foraging wheel from Caitec is still around, it is great for feeding your birds' dry food and treats and can be used by many breeds, including small parrots. Fill with a mix of normal food or treats and a safe foraging substrate, to make the treats harder to get to. Your bird will need to turn the face of the wheel using the handle or the openings. This changes the position of the 2 openings and allows access to the 5 different compartments within the wheel. You can add chewable items to the mix for your bird to get their beak into. Mini and small Feather Weight Foot Toys fit well inside the compartments, as well as 2cm Vine Balls and small Yucca Pieces.
This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. It attaches to the side of the cage using the typical Creative Foraging Systems washer/screw provided which fits most cage and aviary bars.
The wheel is about 15cm in diameter and 3cm deep and best suits small and medium parrots and is not very suitable for Alexandrines due to their beak size. Check out the Generation II wheels for larger birds.
