    Vine Ring Rattle

Much like a dumbbell, this light foot toy has 9 movable, coloured Vine Rings wrapped around the centre. It’s great to shake, rattle and roll around! The multiple paddle pop sticks that make up the centre and crunchy vine rings are good for your parrot to chew.

The Vine Ring Rattle measures 14cm long and 4cm wide. It is better suited to medium and large breeds of parrots but even the small guys can safely enjoy this toy in their foraging tray or bowl.

    Large Pipe Dream

The Pipe Dream is a foraging toy of Kirsty’s own making. They are made in 3 different sizes to suit a range of parrots and the large is best suited to Alexandrines through to Macaws.

Your large parrot just needs to lift the clear acrylic lid out of the way and reach their beak inside the pipe to retrieve their reward. You can mix seed/pellets with bird safe foraging substrate inside the toy or use larger items like nuts, beads or chunks of vegetables wrapped in paper. When first introducing this toy, you can use a piece of sticky tape to hold one lid open for your bird to learn where to find the food. After they have used it this way for a few days, you can remove the tape and let them pick the lid up themselves.

The stainless steel chain running through the toy, helps to hold the lids a little more securely to add some difficulty. Pacifiers adorn the ends of the chain.

For Indian Ringnecks and smaller parrots, I recommend the medium toy. The Pipe dream is made with bird safe and tough acrylic (now clear, not coloured) and pvc plus all hardware is stainless steel. There are acrylic beads and cardboard birdy bagels for your bird to play with too. At the top, there is an ‘o’ ring to attach your own hanging link to.

    Food Tumbler

Wow, in just 2 days of the website being open, this toy has sold out! More are expected to arrive mid-late August 2016.

This is a new foraging design, the most recently released by Caitec and it can be done by nearly every type of bird. Fill it with your bird’s favourite treats and their normal diet then watch them spin the toy to work for their food.

Your bird will need to spin the whole toy so that food falls into the shaft which has an opening for treat retrieval at the bottom. Your bird can grip and spin the toy from the opening in the shaft or along the wavy edges of the toy. The shaft is adjustable to increase the difficulty and on the hardest setting, it really takes a lot of work to get the food into the shaft. The photos show the toy in each difficulty setting which is secured by locking the shaft in place.

This toy is made from tough, clear polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks. It measures 16-19cm long (depending on how you have the shaft adjusted), 13cm wide and will sit 8cm deep from the cage bars. The treat retrieval opening is 13 x 36mm. It attaches by screwing onto the side of the cage with the polycarbonate attachment, common among this brand of toy.

    Large Food Pyramid

Your bird will need to spin the levels to access the food wells and get their reward. It is made with 100% stainless steel hardware, including the large quick link and uses safe, vegetable dyed timber. Each pyramid is slightly different and colours vary.

The large measures 17 x 17cm wide and 26cm tall. Small and medium are also available.

    Cage Mounted Buffet Ball (3″)

This toy is perfectly designed for feeding your bird fruits and vegetables. You could also fill with shredded paper, large pellets/nuts and parcels.

Your bird just needs to reach their beak into the slots/openings in this toy to pull out their prize! Wrapping your birds’ chunks of fruit and vegetables will prolong the enjoyment of this toy as your bird chews through the paper to get to their reward. Believe it or not, this toy can actually help to reduce mess and wastage. Every beak-full of food your bird gets out, he has to purposely chew/work for so more often than not, he’s not going to throw it all over your walls! The tray also catches small pieces of food for your bird to come back to later.

The Cage Mounted Buffet Ball can be filled whilst on the cage-mount or completely removed and even used separately. All pieces come apart for easy cleaning and changing. The ball is secured onto the pole by the spring-button at the top and the whole unit attaches to the cage with stainless steel washer and wing nut set. The ball and tray of this toy are made from tough polycarbonate with stainless steel hardware to hold up against even the tougher beaks.
It measures 9cm in diameter and each of the 12 slots (6 per half) is about 4cm long and 8-12mm wide. The whole toy takes up about 19cm of horizontal space and 16cm of vertical space, including the arm and platter.
The individual 3″ and 5″ foraging balls are also available in my store.

    Space Circles

This rolley polley toy is great for feeding your bird dry food and treats. Your clever parrot will need to push and tilt or shake the toy to get to their reward.

The 'Space Circles' is a figure 8 shape and hangs from the centre of the '8'. When hanging, the toy sits so the treat is at the lower end and your bird will need to push the higher end down and also move it side to side to work the reward through the track, to the opening. You can fill it with bird safe foraging substrate to make the treats harder to get to or use a foraging foot toy like a 2cm Vine Ball or Mini Feather Weight. The Space Circles makes a delightful rattling sound as your bird shakes it, due to the beads sealed inside the protruding arms of the toy which your bird can use as a handle.

This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and will stand up to even the the rougher beaks. It hangs 23cm long on a small quick link and chain, it is 16cm across the '8' and 2.5cm thick.

A great foraging toy for beginners as well as an enriching way to feed your experienced parrot a portion of their breakfast.
To use this foraging toy, your bird needs to push the opening down for the food to roll to the opening. As soon as they let go the spring inside the toy sends it back to it’s normal position. Your bird will need to repeat over and over to retrieve all of the food you’ve left in there. You can also put small foot toys, pebbles, shredded paper and other things in the toy to hide the food and make the toy harder.

The Foraging Seesaw measures 19cm wide and 4.5cm deep. It hangs 27cm long, including pear clip at top.

    Natural 4cm Vine Balls (each)

Vine Balls are a great, versatile item. They can be used as a chewable foot toy, put food inside and use it within a foraging toy or even on its’ own as a foraging foot toy! Lastly, they make a great toy part as you can thread them onto wire, chain or rope as part of a toy.

Each vine ball is made from wound grape vine and is roughly 4cm in diameter, but do vary as they are natural products. Other vine ball sizes as well as coloured vine balls are also available in my store.

    Hide n Seek

This is a super versatile little foraging toy that is easy to use and can be made harder for your birds. Hide nuts, toys, pinecones, gumnuts etc, shredded paper, blocks of wood, cuttle fish bones, fruit or vege chunks in this toy for your bird to chew out.

To use this toy, your bird simply needs to choose his/her target and get chewing! There are a total of 10 slots/opening in this toy to choose from. For expert foragers, you can easily make this toy harder by lining underneath/inside the openings with thick cardboard to chew through. The back of the toy unclips to make refilling a breeze without having to unscrew it from the bars (can be removed and refilled within an aviary also).
Measures 10 X 17.5cm, this toy is made from tough polycarbonate.

It comes only in blue and includes the refill pack with wood blocks, shredded paper and a few vine balls as pictured. This wooden flower pot can hold small treats or beads for the extra clever foragers out there.

A stiff vegetable tanned leather flower is held in place over the top of the flower pot by a stainless steel wing nut wound onto a stainless steel bolt. Your bird must undo the wing nut to remove the vegetable tanned leather flower and get inside to the treat! We recommend using dry food only for this foraging toy.

    Smarty Ring

The Smarty Ring is a foraging foot toy made out of hard timber. Each coloured dot is removeable and has a ‘well’ underneath that you can hide small treats in for your bird to retrieve.

The toy comes with a coloured plastic bead under each dot which can be removed or left in if your bird likes beads. Put small pieces of nuts, flavoured pellets or a sunflower seed under the dot and teach your parrot to remove the dot to find the reward.

This toy is also available in my store in a hanging, slim version which is better for smaller birds. It is called the ‘Smarty Stick’.

The dots can be quite well hammered in at first, please let me know if you’d like my assistance removing them for the first time or if your parrot would prefer to dig them out themselves!

DISCONTINUED Feather Weight Foot Toy (Various Sizes)

LAST ONES LEFT!     These products have sadly been discontinued by the manufacturer. I only have a few ‘rings’ and lots of mini left now. No small or medium I’m sorry.

These Featherweight foot toys are so versatile! You can use them for foraging as you can hide food in the ridges of each ‘bobble’ for your bird to dig out. They can be given as a foot toy, put inside many other foraging toys or hidden around the cage. The rings can also placed over perches to spin or strung on the chain/rope of many other toys. Because they are made as kids toys, with non-toxic plastic, they are as safe as possible for your bird to chew.

I use these daily for my own birds, hiding seeds and small pellets in the ridges and using them through the foraging toys in their cages. Take a look at all the videos in the tab below of the various foot toys in use.

Each ball or bobble is about 2cm in diameter and the different sizes are connected as per the images. The ring measures 9cm in total diameter.
They are available in blue, green, yellow, orange, pink and red as pictured and random colours will be chosen for you unless otherwise requested.

    Tug n Slide Tower

This is a big, sturdy foraging toy that is great for the larger breeds of birds. Put your birds’ favourite treats, beads or normal food in this toy for your bird to work for. The Mini Feather Weight Foraging Foot Toys also fit well in the Tug n Slide.

Your bird will need to grasp the handle of the slider plate and move it back and forth for the reward to move between the 3 levels inside the toy. Then, when it’s in the bottom chamber, they need to pull the leather strap at the bottom of the toy to move the platform down and allow the reward to fall into the retrieval tray.

This toy is made from tough polycarbonate and is dishwasher safe. The toy itself is measures 28cm long and 13 x 11cm wide and deep (includes width of slide plate). Including the chain and leather strap, it is 60cm long and attaches to cage with large, stainless steel quick link.

There is also the option for me to replace the leather strap with a stainless steel ‘o’ ring connected to a regular pacifier for you bird to pull on instead, as most birds will chew up or untie the leather very quickly.

    Mastermind Circle Forager

This is well designed, different foraging toy, that suits the medium to large birds well. Hide treats, beads and normal diet/pellets within the cones of this toy to entice your parrot. The Mini Feather Weight Foot Toys and 2cm Vine Balls fit in this toy also.

Your bird will need to move the cones around the circle, up to the top, where an opening allows the reward to slide out of the cone, into the retrieval tray in the middle of the circle. Extra/replacement cones are also available so you can add more as your bird becomes more experienced.

This toy is made from tough, clear and blue polycarbonate and will hold up against even the tougher beaks.

Measures 22 x 25cm. Attaches to cage with the 2 large, polycarbonate washer/screws that fits onto most cage and aviary bars. For Indian Ringnecks and smaller parrots, the smaller Mastermind Heart is more appropriately sized.

    Turn ‘n Learn Logs

The Turn n Learn Logs is a great foraging toy that can be a challenge even for the smartest of parrots. It’s a very time consuming toy and requires some patience and skill.

Your bird will need to unscrew each of the opaque, blue logs to access the compartment in the bottom of each log, where treats, toys and beads can be hidden. Mini Feather Weight Foot Toys and 2cm Vine Balls fit well within the compartments as foraging items. Birds will generally use their beaks to chew the logs in the opposite direction to each other in order to open it, but some larger parrots may use their feet to hold the lower log too.
Each log is rougly 5.5cm in diameter and hangs just over 30cm long when screwed shut and 55cm long when unscrewed. It attaches to the cage with a quick link.
